Flagstaff and Other Things

So it's been quite awhile since I put anything up on this blog...life's been pretty busy with little Lowe and work but I've finally found the time to post some new pictures and let you all know how it's been going here in Tucson!

We took Lowe to his first U of A football game last Saturday. We only lasted through the first 5 minutes of the first quarter (we got there with about 20 minutes before the game started so I guess we were in the stadium for about 30 minutes). It was raining on and off, the U of A outfit we got him came with a hooded U of A jacket so he stayed nice and dry. Lowe liked to look at the fireworks that went off at the beginning of the game but cried due to the noise. We got him calmed down but everytime the crowd would get loud he would cry so we decided to take him home and try again next year. But at least he looked adorable!

I know Ang beat me to it but here's another picture of Lowe and Dillon. We went to Flagstaff over the Labor Day weekend and thanks to Angela and Gary's hospitality, we got to stay at their place (we housesat while they were with Gary's parents celebrating his parents' anniversary I think). They did make it back on Monday before we had to leave so Lowe and Dillon got to meet which is awesome since they're going to be college roommates and best friends one day ;) It's funny how they're only about 4 months apart and so different right now. In a few years you won't be able to tell the difference!

While we were in Flagstaff we went to the Arboretum. It's this really big land preserve type place with lots of plants and they had a live bird show thing. It was really cool! They had a hawk, a falcon and this ginormous owl! She was probably bigger than Lowe! Lowe really really likes it outside so this place was great for him. Right after (or right before) this picture, I had Lowe sitting on my shoulders and he puked all over my head...yeah for baby!

And yes, Daddy got to carry baby around in the baby carrier thing! They look soo cute there next to the sunflowers. We have to put the burp rag on that baby carrier because Lowe eats it and gets this rash on his chin and lip. There were gorgeous flowers all over the place and there was this really fat chipmunk that kept running really close to us...obviously not afraid of people...

Lowe got to get out of the carrier a few times for pictures and playing. He loves to smile and laugh now that he's getting bigger (5 months!!!). He's been rolling over more too which makes me happy. Lowe really likes to sit and stand up and moves all over the place. While we were in Flagstaff he started to do this scooting thing on his back and gets all over the place when he wants to. Yeah to locomotion!

We went to the Waputki Ruins too. They're really cool and I remember going to them with my family years ago. My mom's really into things like that (the ruins and pottery and the wall paintings and writings...sorry mom...can't think of the technical work for them). It's crazy to think that people lived in those buildings!

We also went to Sunset Crater which is actually a volcano not a crater...It was really nice weather and everything there. Little Lowe got to wear this little blue hat that my mom gave me (it's got a matching jacket too that's still a little too big for him ;). I love Lowe in this hat and am so glad that he didn't mind wearing it. He was adorable in it and I hope his head doesn't get too big by the time it's actually cold here in Tucson so he can wear it more! Mom...if you made that (or know who did if it's homemade) let me know so I can make him a bigger one since it's sooo cute!

I love Lowe's face in this one. I'm not sure what he's doing but it's cute! Lowe's started to eat babyfood and he really likes it! Just today he ate quite a bit of apples and started to eat some butternut squash. He opened his mouth for the spoon which he hasn't done before so I'm really happy! He also loves to help me feed him...he grabs the spoon and stuffs the end in his mouth! Soo cute!
