Such A Bad Blogger!!!

So my friend Holly (we used to play together as kids) totally called me out on my failure at a New Year's Resolution. I have not been blogging every week like I had said I wanted to at the beginning of the year. True, I did well for a while but have falled back into my old ways of just doing it when I felt like it (or when Tyler begged me to) instead of every week. I need to get better at it and am going to re-committ (how do you spell that anyways...) to blogging every week (at least)!!!

So this first picture doesn't have anything to do with current events in the Goodrich Household...but it brought back good memories of my childhood. We used to go to Laramie, Wyoming every summer around the 4th of July and visit my grandparents. They had a bunch of cool toys for us to play with and my oldest brother Nathan always used to grab these beat up old owls and take them everywhere with him. In old home videos, he can be seen shoving them in the camera. So when Tyler, Lowe and I were at Target the other night looking for toys for Lowe's birthday, I ran into this:

So of course I couldn't help from laughing a lot (with Tyler looking at me like I was a weirdo) and snapping a picture of it on my phone which I then sent to my three oldest brothers. They all appreciated it. So Nathan...maybe a Target near you has some of these owls there too!!!

I've decided I need to start running again more regularly...well, I should just say start running again! Since the Ragnar Relay at the end of February I think I've only run like 4 times, two of which were in the last week! So Lowe doesn't have much hair and the stuff he's got is pretty blonde and just being a baby, he's got pale, sun sensitive skin. We got this hat at this bike thing we went to and we've never really used it because Lowe just tugs it off. This time though, I was able to distract him with a toy train and get it snapped under his chin so he couldn't get it off!!! Ahahahahaha! So his little head was protected while we ran the 3 mile loop around Reid Park (half ran/half walked I should say). Lowe loves being outside and is starting to look more and more like his daddy with a little farmer's tan line on his arms!!!

We're one of those sets of parents who have not invested in any sort of childproofing things for our home aside from outlet covers. So Lowe is constantly getting into the cupboards, climbing up and down the stairs and playing with all the dvds. I don't remember what I was doing, other than obviously not paying enough attention to what Lowe was doing but I looked around to see what he was doing and this is what I found:

Baby in the crock pot base!!! He had pulled it out of the cupboard and climbed inside!!! I think he's starting to understand that objects can be placed inside other objects. I was organizing his toys the other day and couldn't find one of the pieces to a stacking toy and didn't think much of it until I went to make dinner a few days later and found the toy inside one of my big pots. The pots and pans cupboard is his favorite one to play in because they all make so much noise.

Lowe is fast approaching One Year of age. Crazy hard to believe!!! He'll be one on wednesday!!! So he's started to try out his legs for walking. He'll take a few steps here and there on his own and will stand unsupported all over the place. He loves to cruise on everything and if he's got a hold of any supporting finger, he'll walk all over the place. We went to one of the parks down the street from our house and he wanted to help me push the stroller back home.

In other news, my just younger than me brother got home from his mission for our church to Germany last weekend. We were able to go up to my parents house in Tempe to see him the night he got home. We stayed through Easter dinner on Sunday. It was great to get to see him and introduce him to Lowe. Yeah Abram for making it home!!!

Lowe liked finding Easter eggs. He was playing with some cars right before it was his turn to try to find an egg. I should have waited a few minutes for my dad to get out with his camera but I told Lowe to go find an egg. He looked at me, dropped his car and crawled right over to one of the eggs and grabbed it!!! So we're not sure if he just happened to see this bright orange thing on top of a toy car and wanted it at the same time I told him to go find one or what but it was way cute!

And just to finish out this blog post, these three awesome fathers just happened to be standing together like this and we as the wives, couldn't help ourselves and made them stay there so we could take pictures. So from left to right: Mike and Caleb Joslin, Dave and Sophie Joslin and Tyler and Lowe Goodrich. Such good fathers and such good little cousins!!!
