So things are still pretty mellow around here. I've got only one more final to take for the semester and then things'll be all done and over with! So as you can see...I'm so not studying but blogging instead!
I cannot wait for this summer. I've got that new externship job and there are so many projects that I have that I can't wait to get started (and hopefully finished!).
I can't think of anything else new that's going on...oh well!
So school is almost over this semester and I just cannot wait!!!!! 6 more days of school spread out over the next 3 weeks. I've also only got 9 days left in the job that's I've had for the last 3.5 years. Crazy to think I won't be working in the staffing office at UMC anymore but that's alright...I get to do patient care up on the infant and toddler unit and it's going to be awesome.
I've started doing this exercise video program thing with my friend Kathie and it's kicking out butts! You wouldn't think that a combination of kickboxing, aerobics and dance would be that difficult but I work up the morning after and could hardly move because I was so sore. It's called Turbo Jam and is just crazy! We did the sculpting workout the other day and both of us had shaky legs during the end of it...way too many lunges and squats but hey...it'll be worth it when I see a difference in my backside! (A little more toned I hope!)
The dogs are still doing well, Little Louie and Tyler had a little accident today at the dog park and so Louie is now on some a pain med and is limping a little bit but he'll be ok. (Tyler called Louie over to him, Louie sprinted off to see Tyler and somehow hurt his little front leg when he jumped up to see Tyler (Tyler was squating down) and Louie really whimpered alot and the poor little guy...he couldn't put any weight on the leg and would try biting me really hard when I would go to touch his leg). He's been able to put weight on it this afternoon and stills limps around the house but he'll be alright (yeah for pain medication for the little guy...although it's just an NSAID (like ibuprofen), I think it will be enough for him.
So it's been awhile since I wrote on here last...school has been oh so crazy!
If anyone is interested or cares I got to do a couple really cool things these last couple weeks! I got to start an IV in a patient, I got to insert a foley catheter and I got to do a rectal suppository...now that I've shared all that...no one wants to know me anymore! Oh well though b/c those were all really good learning experiences and I am so happy that I got to do them all first during school while I had an instructor or experienced nurse at my side to help walk me through the parts I was unsure of doing.
Tyler's just been working and luckily he still likes his job. We went to a play the other night that his boss' step daughter was starring in: Alice in Wonderland. The guy who wrote that book must have really been on something b/c that was about the weirdest play I have ever seen in my entire life! Boy did Disney make it a lot more understandable and give it an actual flow to it (I have decided that I need to read the book now to see what the original craziness is all about).
Spike still has not lost any weight (I don't think he has and the scale at the vet's confirms this) although Tyler swears that he is looking a littel leaner. Louie is just as crazy as ever, we don't think he'll ever stop acting like a puppy.
I can't think of anything else exciting that has gone on around down here in Tucson other then the weather has been absolutely gorgeous making it unfortunate for those of us stuck inside at work or school all day long.
Well...nothing much is going on down here. I just got some flowers planted in some planters we have had on our front porch (they were here when we moved here). I just hope I have some of Joseph's luck and the flowers don't die with in a week!!! It's really hot out right now (probably around 80!).
I cannot wait until we have our own house and can actually do things with the yards and maybe have a garden and a flower garden too! That would make me really really happy...too bad I have to wait a while until that'll happen.
So I got offered a summer externship at the hospital that I work at on one of the pediatrics floors and I am SO EXCITED about it! So I will be starting that in the end of May and I just cannot wait for that to start!!! Yeah new job and new experiences!
