Baby Stuff

So yesterday I got this huge urge to make my own nursing cover. I knew both my sister's in law on my side had ones that were home made and they're both really cute. So I googled it and found a site with really easy directions and pictures to go along with it: http://www.blisstree.com/breastfeeding123/free-pattern-to-sew-your-own-nursing-cover/

So I changed the directions a bit because I got this brilliant idea to use a receiving blanket that matches the crib sheet set that we've got in the baby's room!!! So since I had like 8 of them, I figured I could spare one for a nursing cover. It took me a while longer than I thought it would partly because it took me a while to find the corset boning and D rings at Joanns and a while to figure out what fabric to use for the straps and binding out of the stuff I already had at home! But I got it finished late last night and so it's in the diaper bag along with everything else little Lowe might need. Yeah to that! So here's a picture of the sheet set and some of the nursing cover.

That's the sheet set in our crib...

This is just a close up of the straps on the cover

Another look at the straps, this time from the back

There's a pic of the back of the cover, I used some left over fabric I had to add a second layer to the blanket to be sure it wouldn't be see thru. The fabric just happened to be flannel so it's all nice and soft on both sides!

And there's a pic from the front. Yeah to it matching his nursery decor! Yeah!
