Another week over

so i think i'm doing pretty good on posting something every sunday...yeah to me and following a few of my new years resolutions!!!

i started my preceptorship for school this week and it's awesome. i cannot wait until i am actually a licensed nurse and can do everything on my own without having to ask someone to get the meds out of the machine for me or come with me into the room to administer them!!! it'll be awesome to actually have a career and be able to work on my own!!! granted i will still ask all the questions i have because i'm not ashamed of the fact that i won't know everything and will still have tons of questions.

for a preceptorship, i work with a nurse and try to take care of our patients on my own (with her supervision). it's supposed to be teaching us leadership, management and delgation skills but i feel as though i've already learned those from the student nurse externship that i did last summer. this will be a time for me to improve these skills and better learn to talk with doctors and other disciplines in the hospital. i love it so much! yeah to nursing!

this week was pretty uneventful otherwise. i did get bit on the finger by spike but that's what happens when he's in his doghouse and has his bone with him...silly protective little dog. he got in big trouble but i guess i need to be more careful and be sure he's out in the open when i try to pet him or take his bone. like my friend heather said though, we didn't raise him, we adopted him and can't really do much about those qualitites and traits he learned while in his original house of 6 years...we'll just have to be sure Lowe doesn't try to do anything with spike's bone when Lowe gets big enough to be outside with the dogs.

oh!!! we ordered our crib for lowe's room. i'm so excited to be getting that and can't wait for it to come so we can put it together...granted i won't have any bedding for it until the end of march but still, it'll be nice to have set up. woo hoo to nesting setting in already!
